Social Worker / Psychotherapist
Taking the step to ask for help and coming to meet someone new takes great courage; the courage to be vulnerable. Showing up in an authentic way can feel risky, but can have great rewards. It is in the same spirit that I want to authentically share with you about myself and what working with me looks like.
I am a mom of two little people, both of whom teach me lessons daily. I also have personal experience with chronic illness and chronic pain. For a long time I was stuck in childhood patterns that no longer served me. I also embarked on my own personal and professional journey, and I am grateful that my journey has led me here to this space.
I graduated from my bachelor’s of social work program in 2008 and my master’s of social work in 2011. I began my career working in the area of children’s mental health and quickly learned how early childhood experiences can impact our adult life. From there, I have spent over a decade working with children, adults and families.
If you are struggling to manage some of life’s challenges, you are not alone. I support individuals with a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, addiction, feelings of shame or guilt, and trauma responses. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel safe to feel the uncomfortable stuff without feeling judged. Where you feel seen and understood.
*I have specialized training in the areas of trauma (PTSD and CPTSD) as well as attachment patterns.
Tiffany Wood-Lycett, MSW, RSW
Social Worker / Psychotherapist
I work with adolescents and adults to identify their emotional need, develop effective communication skills and nurture supportive connections with their loved ones. As a provider of colour, I hold space for each person to share their cultural values and ways of knowing. I also have specialized training to support people in their perinatal period of life including trying to conceive, pregnancy and postpartum.
Through discussing the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, I use trauma-informed therapeutic tools to help return to feelings of calm and connection so that you can feel powerful in your life. Within a warm and judgement-free space, I'll will work with you to free yourself from unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour. I believe that all people have a right to hope and healing, and finding a therapist who is the best fit for you can be the first step.
